Father's Day Gift Ideas run aplenty. But what kind of gift is a really good Father's Day gift? I would like to suggest one that is shiny, sharp, or one that can give him a new hobby. For 2011, here are my recommendations for Father's Day gift ideas related to the kitchen and kitchen knives. There is a wonderful mix of knife sets, starter sets, sharpening tools, and unique knives that will keep every guy happy for a lifetime. Or at least until 2012 Father's Day!
1) A Great Knife Block Set
Here is one that won't break the bank and provide excellent quality knives. A Victorinox 8-Piece Knife Block Set makes cutting, dicing, and chopping easy.
2) Give Him a Hobby Sharpening Knives
Guys love to stay busy. Why not get them busy in the kitchen sharpening knives? Trust me. Kitchen knives are never sharp enough. He'll keep at it and never stop. Here's the one I use: Shun DM0708 Combination Whetstone Knife Sharpener
3) An Offset Bread and Deli Knife
I recently got one of these and am impressed at the quality for such an inexpensive knife. The handle is very easy hold. It is super sharp and cuts through the hardest of breads with ease. Dexter is American made and top quality. Try this one: Dexter-Russell V-LO 9-Inch Carbon Steel Offset Knife
4) Get Him Started Right
Starter sets are a great way to get started building a collection of kitchen knives. Since you're not buying the collection all at once, it doesn't cost a fortune. Get him started with this really impressive line of Henckels knives: Zwilling J.A. Henckels Four Star 3-Piece Starter Set with Bonus Steel
5) If He Does the Cooking, Splurge on a Great Chef Knife
I know a lot of guys that do the cooking in the house. If yours does, he'll love a quality chef knife. It's the workhorse in the kitchen, and this one not only performs wonders, he'll show it off to all his friends: Ken Onion by Shun DM0500 8-Inch Chef's Knife
